Job Description

Product Specialist is responsible to monitor the application and performance of food regulatory management policies and procedures related to SBCC’s quality management system and document control of the same in order to ensure that local and export countries food regulatory standards and measures are met and product in sales to those countries is in compliance to the respective country regulatory standards as set by the governing bodies in the country.

Day- to- Day Operations:
Ensuring compliance with regulations set by Saudi food and drug administration (SFDA) across SBCC manufacturing and storage sites.
Ensuring that Saudi and export countries food legislation standards are met and submissions meet strict deadlines through performing internal regulatory food safety audits to ensure compliance to those requirements.
Following up the closing of all regulatory food safety internal audit findings.
Planning, undertaking and overseeing product trials and approve the primary and secondary labeling information on all SBCC products ensuring meeting the local/ export country food legislative requirements.
Follow up the planning, undertaking and overseeing all regulatory inspections.
Keeping up to date and document control all changes in regulatory legislation and guidelines in Saudi and all export countries.

Job Specific Accountabilities:
Studying scientific and legal documents.
Gathering, evaluating, organizing, managing and collating information in a variety of formats.
Liaising and negotiating with regulatory authorities.
Assisting the advice about food regulations to various teams in the organization.
Writing comprehensible, user-friendly, clear product information leaflets and labels.
Preparing documentation (Procedures, forms, guidelines, etc.)
Maintaining familiarity with company product ranges.
Outlining requirements for labeling, storage and packaging.

Continuous Improvement:
Continual improvement on the QMS & FSMS, by using internationally recognized food safety and quality systems which will lead to improve the available organizational functions and upgrade the organization operational and functional activities.

Safety, Quality & Environment:
Complies with all relevant safety, quality and environmental management policies, procedures and controls to ensure a healthy and safe work environment.

Reporting:
Monthly: Regulatory food safety internal audit report & internal audit action plans.
Quarterly: Food legislation updates report & Action plans to close findings of SFDA.

Skills

Work experience: 1+ years in QA/QC or Food legislation management.
Knowledge of local and international food regulations.
HACCP, ISO22000:2005 & ISO9001:2015 training.
Excellent in English (spoken / written).
Computer illiterate.
Excellent communication skills.
Excellent reporting skills .
Confidentiality.

Education

B.Sc. in Food science/ technology/ Biotechnology or related field (M.SC. is preferable)
